Unstoppable Parenting Sessions

Bethany is a confident, experienced and engaging public speaker and facilitator, who delivers heartfelt, honest and gritty real life examples which is cleverly coupled with the latest evidenced-based research to meet her audiences where their at. Bethany’s lived experiences as a mother to a child with an acutely rare disease in addition to her professional experiences creates a safe space, where audiences are seen holistically and are inspired to meet their potential and become unstoppable.

Topics include:

  • Topic 1: Parenting a child with neurodiversity. An introduction to what neurodiversity is, how it impacts parenting, your relationship with your family/friends and practical tips to parent calmly.
    This session focuses on the parent/child relationship.

  • Topic 2: Parenting children with special needs. This session focuses on upskilling parents to effectively advocate for their children and provides parents practical tips to support the child/parent relationship.
    This session focuses on the parent/child relationship.

  • Topic 3: Post diagnosis. A parents journey through grief, mental health tips, finding support and acceptant.
    This session focuses on parents.

  • Topic 4: My story: I share my story of being a mother to a child with an acutely rare disease.
    The session covers medical gaslighting, the diagnostic fight, ongoing systematic advocacy, mental health issues, relationship struggles and a fight to access medications. Some parts will make you cry and others you will want to cheer.

Bethany has a Bachelor of Social Science with a major in Children and Family Studies, and is a community sector leader with over 17-years experience working across government and the non-for-profit sector.
